Nationals. Moving to the Fastruck Series, Kids Division, David continued his winning ways with 5 wins, 8 poles, and 19 top fives in 24 starts in the division.
Continuing the advancement of his racing career, David moved up to the Fastruck Series Pro Division where he raced with the veterans of the Florida Series again posting impressive stats with 1 win, 2 poles, and 6 top tens in just 7 starts in the division (1 DNF).
David has been doing some intensive testing in the Wilson Racing super late model with plans to race at Florida area tracks when not competing on the Hooters Pro Cup Series. "We have been working with David and his dad Don for the past year now and watching Davids career advance, David is mature beyond his age with a burning desire to learn and advance his career, David has experienced victory at all the levels that he has competed and we are excited about bringing David to the Hooters Pro Cup Series and continuing the competitive ways."
David acknowledges, " My Dad has believed in me from the start and has been the main driving force behind my racing" and states "Racing is not only a hobby, for some people it's an addiction. I love all aspects of it". It's that kind of attitude that makes this young man a winner! Source - Team Release | The Hooters Air Race Team Finish Fourth At Madison Speedway | | Dated: | Monday, September 12 2005 | |
The Hooters Air Race Team went to Madison Speedway for the final race of USAR Northern Division Regular Season. Mardy Lindley went into the race second in points, and a chance to take home the Northern Division Championship. The Hooters Air Race Team prepared a great car for the Miller Lite 250 presented by the Wisconsin Ford Dealers and they were going to give an all out effort like they have done all season.
While the Hooters Air Race Team made some changes to the car for practice and trying different set ups, Lindley posted the second fastest practice times of the day and the team then prepared the car for qualifying knowing they had a shot at their first pole of the season. When qualifying was over, they had gone 18.772 around the half mile oval, which was good for the fourth starting position. The top four cars were all within 2/100 of second of each other.
The race started and Lindley settled into the fourth position and stayed there for the first half of the race. Since the top four cars were so close in times, passing proved to be difficult during this race. A caution came out on lap 122, and it was time for the leaders to come to pit road for service. The Hooters Air Pit Crew was ready to top off the car with fuel, put on four tires and be set to go to the finish of the race. The team came in fourth and they did not lose a position on pit road. Lindley restarted in sixth because two cars who had pitted earlier had stayed out on the race track for track position. As the race went on, Lindley was able to get around those two cars and was able to maintain fourth position and he kept pressure on Woody Howard who was running third. A couple of times, Lindley was able to get underneath Howard, but a caution flag would come out before Lindley would be able to make the pass. Lindley was able to bring the Hooters Air Ford to a fourth place finish and would also finish second to Benny Gordon in the Northern Division Championship.
Shotime motorsports and Mardy Lindley put up some astounding numbers during the regular season. There were 12 races run in the Northern Division and Lindley finished in the top ten in all of them with nine of them being top five finishes. There were 2,967 laps run in those twelve races and Lindley completed all 2,967 laps. This was accomplished because of excellent preparation and maintenance of the race car at the shop during the weeks before the race, the race teams preparation at the race track during the races, great reliability from our Automotive Specialist Engines, Lindley's great driving ability to stay out of trouble during the races, and a little racing luck on our side. shotime motorsports and Mardy Lindley are getting ready for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Championship Season. They will start tied for third place and are looking forward to bringing home a championship. We would like to thank all our sponsors, crew members and fans for their support!!
